Lnk.Bio is worth considering if you want a link page with a one-time paid option. Later suits a profile built around social posts. AppRoute fits an app download path where iPhone and Android visitors need different destinations.

Those recommendations depend on the job you're replacing. A creator with a shop, newsletter and podcast needs somewhere to show those choices. An app developer may want the profile's download link to open the right store.

AppRoute publishes this comparison and is one of the options below. Product details come from the vendors' public documentation, checked September 4, 2026. This is a comparison of documented features, not a hands-on performance ranking.

The recommendations in the first two columns are our editorial assessment of those documented features. A free link page and a free routing allowance cover different work; their limits are not directly interchangeable.

Lnk.Bio's free plan includes unlimited links and basic statistics. Its listed Mini options are $0.99 per month or $9.99 as a one-time payment. Unique is listed at $24.99 as a one-time payment and includes removal of Lnk.Bio branding. Lnk.Bio pricing.

That makes it a candidate for someone who wants a hosted link page and would rather pay once for the selected features. Check the complete cost if your own domain is part of the decision: Lnk.Bio documents an existing custom domain as a $29.99-per-year add-on on a paid plan. The included .bio domain offer covers one year. Lnk.Bio feature and domain details.

Build a sample page with the links you already use. Compare whether visitors can find the main destination and whether the design controls you need are included in the plan you intend to buy.

03Later: a bio page connected to social posts

Later's Link in Bio lets you build a page with buttons and links attached to Instagram and TikTok posts. The page gives visitors a place to find the destination associated with a post they saw. Later's product overview.

Its Free plan includes a customizable Link in Bio page and introductory analytics. Paid plans add features such as longer analytics history and collaboration tools. Later's plan guide.

This is worth a look when your bio needs to support a changing stream of posts. Before switching, check how many posts and destinations you need to maintain, who will update them, and which reporting period you use. Read the Link in Bio plan comparison for the specific feature you need rather than assuming the free page includes every Later feature.

AppRoute lets you configure App Store, Google Play and website destinations behind a smart link. Visitors follow the configured routing instead of selecting a store from a menu. Basic store routing does not require a mobile SDK. How AppRoute routing works.

The free plan includes 25 active links and 10,000 monthly clicks. Use click analytics to inspect traffic, and check current plans for the allowances you need. Pro and Team plans also support importing overall Stripe and RevenueCat revenue for comparison. Revenue attribution from individual link clicks is coming soon.

Choose AppRoute when the main job is distributing an app. If you need a page of unrelated destinations, such as a shop and a podcast, use a page builder for that task. A studio can also keep its link page and put an AppRoute download URL behind each app's button.

For example, a single-app profile might use one download link with three destinations: the iOS listing, the Android listing and a desktop product page. That's a suggested setup. Test the actual profile on both phones before making it your main download path.

05When staying with Linktree makes sense

Linktree's free plan includes unlimited basic links. Pro lists branding removal and additional customization; Premium advertises dynamic links and smart routing. AppRoute should not be treated as the only option with routing. Linktree's current plans.

If you are considering a switch for one missing feature, first check whether your existing plan or an upgrade covers it. Compare the specific routing rules and reporting you need. A shared feature name does not establish identical behavior.

Keep your current page if it meets the job at a cost you're comfortable with. Moving creates work: rebuilding the page, checking old placements and learning a different report. A new tool should solve a problem you can name.

06Free Linktree alternatives: compare what you will use

The options above have free starting points, but a useful comparison needs more than a $0 label. Write down the links you need today and the features that would make you upgrade.

For a hosted page, check whether the free design is acceptable, how your main link appears on a phone, and what reporting is included. For app routing, check the store destinations, fallback behavior and monthly click allowance. If you sell through a provider, review its transaction and payment-processing terms separately from the subscription price.

The paid Lnk.Bio prices quoted above are the vendor's published USD amounts on the check date. For Linktree and Later, confirm the current amount and billing interval on their pricing or checkout page. No paid-price ranking is made here.

07Switch one placement before moving everything

Start with a profile where you can easily restore the old URL.

  1. Save your current destinations, labels and campaign tags. Note any pages or QR codes that point to the old URL.
  2. Rebuild the same useful destinations in the new setup. Remove obsolete links only after confirming they are no longer needed.
  3. Test every destination on a phone. For app routing, check iPhone, Android and desktop separately.
  4. Update one profile, then open its link as a visitor and confirm the recorded traffic.
  5. Keep the old destination available while you check the remaining placements. Don't assume traffic to a provider-owned URL will automatically move to another service.

Take a copy of any reports you need before canceling a plan. Keep the old and new reporting periods separate, since tools may count visits and clicks differently. Your own migration tests can also affect early totals.

For an app launch, create an AppRoute smart link and follow the routing checklist. If it solves the download path, you can use it directly in your bio or add it to the link page you already have.
