Validate the public URL shape
These checks run locally in your browser and examine URL structure only. They do not contact Apple, Google, the destination website, or a QR image, and they do not confirm that a listing is published or available in a particular country.
Then verify what the visitor actually sees
1. Open the Apple URL
Use a normal browser and an iPhone. Confirm the app name, publisher, icon, supported market, and install action.
2. Open the Google URL
Use a normal browser and an Android phone. Confirm the package belongs to the intended listing and that the listing is available.
3. Open the fallback
On desktop, confirm the fallback explains the app and offers a sensible next step instead of an incompatible store page.
4. Test the smart link
Open the final shared URL from iPhone, Android, desktop, and the social browser where it will appear.
5. Test the final QR size
Print or display the QR at its delivery size. Scan it from both phone platforms at a realistic distance and lighting level.
6. Record and retest
Save the observed destination, device, browser, time, and evidence. Repeat after changing a URL, rule, design, or print size.
